HonkMobile now available for accessible, on-street parking

The City of Kingston is continuing a partnership with HonkMobile to offer a new way to pay for accessible, on-street parking spaces in the downtown area. Users parking in these spaces can now search, pay for and top up parking from their phone, tablet or computer using the HonkMobile app.

"The ability to pay without having to physically leave your vehicle is a huge improvement for those parking in accessible spaces and goes well beyond convenience," says Ian Semple, Director, Transportation Services. "Accessible parking users will still be able to pay at meters, if they prefer. This is just another payment option we're pleased to offer."

More than 50 on-street accessible spaces are now available for payment through HonkMobile. The City has also expanded HonkMobile to designated parking for patients of the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario. 

HonkMobile continues to be available in surface lots downtown and will be expanding to remaining hourly lots later this year.

To use HonkMobile:

  1. Download the HonkMobile app from www.HonkMobile.com or your app store.
  2. Set up your account. You may add as many vehicles and payment sources to an account as you would like. HonkMobile accepts PayPal, VISA, debit, ApplePay and Masterpass digital wallet. HonkMobile also allows you to view all your parking receipts.

When you pay for parking with HonkMobile, Parking Enforcement Officers see a real-time list of licence plates that have paid parking, so you don't have to worry about displaying a paper receipt.

More than 15 communities across Canada are using Honk as an additional way to pay for parking.
