About the Project

The City of Kingston wants to hear your recreational and naturalization ideas for improving use of Belle Park.

The City owns and operates Belle Park, an 80-acre park situated on a former landfill in the core of Kingston on the shores of the Great Cataraqui River. Belle Park includes a 5,900 yard 9-hole golf course and a driving range as well as a clubhouse/washroom facility, multi-use courts, open park space and pathways along the waterfront for hiking or bike rides.

The number of golfers using Belle Park continues to decrease. In a 2016 Belle Park Working Group update to council, it was recommended the City explore options to reduce, modify or eliminate golf at the park and find ways to encourage other recreational uses and/or naturalization of some areas.

The City will share your input as it is gathered and summarize it in a report that will go to council this fall.
