Rebecca Benson is a passionate and dedicated theatre artist and educator. She has received extensive education in theatre, having received a BA in Drama from the University of Alberta, attended George Brown College's Theatre Arts Program, and received a MFA in Directing for Theatre from University of Ottawa. Alongside her education, Rebecca has extensive and varied work experience as a teacher, facilitator, workshop leader, director, assistant director and actor. Rebecca is also active in the Kingston arts community, having provided Kinder Drama workshops at the Tett Center as well as a workshop called Behind the Scenes for the Seniors Association in partnership with Theatre Kingston.
Rebecca has experience in as well as a strong commitment to developing and delivering theatre programs. She strives to offer a variety of workshops for children, teens, adults and seniors in schools and community settings. The topics of her workshops include exploring techniques in collective creation and physical theatre, mask work and character building, monologue and audition preparation, scene study (classical and modern), and introduction to drama and theatre.
Rebecca prefers to work with primary, elementary and high school students, as well as adults and seniors.
