Name: Elinor Rush

Description:

Elinor Rush is musician and textile artist, working with fabric, thread and paper by machine and hand. She is the president of the Kingston Fibre Artists, and has her work displayed at Cornerstone Fine Canadian Crafts and the Textile Museum of Canada. Elinor is also an active volunteer with Blue Skies, and has delivered programming with Youth Diversion and the Limestone District School Board.

Elinor teaches group classes on the techniques of working with ‘faux chenille', as well as basic sewing and quilting sewing skills. She also offers one on one instruction with fibre art basics. Elinor is developing a program for students that explores cultural diversity through colour theory and practical needle and thread skills, as well as fabric fusing, and safe use of equipment like irons and fabric scissors.

Elinor prefers to work with Elementary, Middle and High school students, and well as adults.
