Content-Residents- Maple Tar Spots

Maple Tar Spots are black spots that appear on some maple leaves. The spots are the result of a fungal disease. There is no treatment for Maple Tar Spots. They may cause leaves to drop early in the season, but they have no long term effect on maple trees.

You can help break the life cycle of the fungus spores that imbed into the leaf membrane by raking fallen leaves into bags or by composting them.
