Jan 2023: PASCAN to suspend operations due to interline agreement with other carriers.
Dec 2021: PASCAN, a Montreal-based airline, announces the start of service from March of 2022 at YGK airport. PASCAN will be flying to these destinations.
Nov 2021: Reimagining baggage. We are working to find solutions for a better flow of baggage as we invite passengers in the new year.

Mar 2020: Air Canada seizes flights to Kingston due to lack of demand-based of the pandemic
Jan 2020: Nescafe kiosk installed at the airport for passengers to enjoy various hot drinks while they wait at the airport.
June 2019: Kingston Airport's terminal building is now fully functional including all of its operations. Coming soon: public art exhibits, the Starbucks ' kiosk dispensing hot drinks, and the addition of screens for information and leisure purposes (flight information, sports and news, and visual art).
April 2019: Travellers are now able to access whole new sections of the terminal building. Air Canada counters have been temporarily reconfigured in the new check-in hall; the security checkpoint has been reoriented; and following the screening process, outbound travellers can also now enjoy the fresh seating and appearance of the new departures lounge.
For the final stages of the project, inbound travellers and baggage flows have been temporarily redirected while the enclosure is constructed for the new baggage carousel. By partially opening new areas, and temporarily rerouting existing flows, the project team will be able to wrap up the final phases of the renovations while the building remains fully operational.
Travellers, please note that as this project nears completion, our Automated Teller Machine (ATM) is temporarily unavailable.
November 2018 -- Runway extension completed.
October 2018 – Paving of the north-south runway commences. To accommodate construction, some night work may occur and the runway will be closed from Oct. 15 to 29. Air traffic will be temporarily diverted to the east-west runway. This will cause a short-term change to existing flight patterns around the airport.
April 2018 - Construction begins to expand the Kingston Airport terminal. The airport will remain open for business throughout the $16.1 million upgrade work.

August 2017 - Aerodrome Work Consultation
The City conducted a public consultation on this project and incorporated input into an Environmental Assessment completed in 2016. New regulations introduced by Transport Canada in 2017 allow for an added opportunity to consult with the public on the runway extension work.
December 2016 – The Revised Airport Infrastructure Expansion Project Definition Document outlines the design and construction requirements associated with the proposed runway extensions and expansion of the Passenger Terminal Building at Kingston Airport.
