Name: Tracey Guptill
Description:
Tracey is an accomplished dancer, actor, director, playwright, and environmentalist. She has travelled across Canada performing with acting troupes and has led environmental workshops in Ottawa elementary schools, high schools, and universities. Through the performing arts, Tracey explores issues of environmental and social justice accommodated for children, youth and adults.
In her performance workshops, students collaboratively develop an original piece of theatre around a particular issue. Students begin by engaging with the technique of Image Theatre, which integrates tableaus, theater games and movement exercises to explore the chosen theme. From these techniques, Tracey helps students to generate a script for the group to perform.
Tracey prefers to work with Preschool, Elementary, Middle, and High school students, as well as Adults and Families.
