The Ontario Medical Association flag will be flown in Confederation Park in celebration of Doctor's Day. The Ontario Medical Association represents Ontario's 43,000 plus physicians, medical students and retired physicians, advocating for and supporting doctors while strengthening the leadership role of doctors in caring for patients.First recognized by the provincial government in 2011, May 1st was chosen to mark the birthday of Canada's first female physician, Dr. Emily Stowe.
