Fussell, Peggy

Name: Peggy Fussell

Description:

Peggy Fussell is an artist with substantial experience in illustration and design. She has received a BA in Fashion Design with a Minor in Fine Art and Philosophy from Marist College, and has pursued graduate work in Digital Art from Pratt Institute. Since 1995, Peggy has been the owner of "Peggy Fussell Illustration", a freelance business specializing in fashion, gardening and travel illustration with a special interest in maps and hand lettering. Peggy also has extensive experience working as the coordinator of Family Programs at Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, Maryland. She is interested in continuing this work here in Kingston, especially on projects dealing with social justice, transition and recovery. Peggy also has ESL training and has worked with refugee youth and adults seeking asylum in the US.

Peggy's drawing practice and workshops involve working collaboratively with others who are in transitional periods. She is interested in the way drawing, or mark making, can help process emotion. In workshops, she enjoys creating working environments that encourage participants to learn by exploring their bodies. Her drawing and visual journaling workshops incorporate dance and body movement into the creation of visual journals which vary in forms depending on the needs and abilities of the students.

Peggy prefers to work with Elementary and High school students, as well as families, adults, seniors, and peoples with special needs.
