Witnessing remarkable projects come to life with the Kingston Community Climate Action Fund has been truly inspiring. Over the years, our community has joined together to raise $149,000, supporting local charities and their efforts to create a more sustainable and resilient community.

As we enter the Fund's fourth year, I'm thrilled to unveil the 2024 Kingston Community Climate Action Fund project—an extraordinary project led by All Our Relations Land Trust. This initiative aims to curb greenhouse gas emissions by installing solar-powered irrigation systems.

Situated on a 2.86-acre pasture on Hwy 15 in Kingston, this project will provide essential renewable energy for the existing irrigation system and allow for a long-term transition to battery-operated electric gardening equipment, supporting the Indigenous food sovereignty garden, medicine gardens, a pollinator garden, and little forests. All of these initiatives are carefully stewarded by All Our Relations Land Trust in collaboration with members of the urban Indigenous community, allies, and partner organizations, including Little Forests Kingston.

The Climate Action Fund is deeply rooted in collective climate action, bringing us all together to build a better future. This extraordinary project not only supports vital climate action but also nurtures our connections to the land.

About All Our Relations Land Trust - Fundraising goal: $27,179

We know that our decisions today will create the future for our grandchildren's children.

All Our Relations Land Trust project expresses our commitment to being good ancestors so that in the future, our descendants will feel that loving connection to the land and they will thrive because they are part of a resilient and diverse ecology.

The project site is located on the traditional lands of the Huron Wendat, Anishinaabe, and Haudenosaunee peoples, now known as Kingston, Ontario. All Our Relations Land Trust recognizes the Land as Kin – a beloved relation. The Land Trust will continue to practice good governance, build knowledge, and care for the land in a good way.

Embarking on this journey with All Our Relations Land Trust, the Kingston Community Climate Action Fund unveils not just a project but also a tangible commitment to sustainability for our community. The lush 2.86-acre pasture on Hwy 15 in Kingston is set to become a model of environmental stewardship, cultural preservation and community collaboration.

How to donate:

100% of all funds raised go directly to the Kingston charity, All Our Relations Land Trust. Gifts of $20 or more will be eligible to receive a tax receipt issued by the City of Kingston. 

Donations to the Fund are accepted at all Kingston Community Credit Union (KCCU) branches, with the KCCU committed to matching donations made through the bank up to $5,000.

Donations can also be made online through CanadaHelps or the Kingston City Hall Payment Centre.
