Grass Creek Park is a 95 acre rural park in Kingston East. This park is a 20 minute drive (16 km) from downtown along Highway 2 East.

Park amenities

  • Large sandy beach with a cordoned off swimming area. (no lifeguards)
  • Parking lots (at the front of park and near the beach)
  • Picnic tables
  • Picnic shelter
  • Play equipment
  • Rolling meadows
  • Off-leash area
  • Washrooms - Open daily from 8 a.m. to dusk - Victoria Day to Thanksgiving
  • Small craft/boat launch
  • Level 2 EV charging stations
  • Seasonal disc golf course

The MacLachlan Woodworking Museum, 2993 Highway 2 East, is at the entry to the park and has exhibits and programming from May to September each year.

This park hosts an annual Sheep Dog Trials each August which attract dogs and handlers from all over North America and the UK.

Large gatherings can be accommodated in the park. Please book the park through facilities booking staff.


Future Plans

City Council approved a conceptual master plan in September 2013 for the park which when implemented in the future will:

  • Add trails and better cross park connections to all areas
  • Improve the visibility and access to the park from Hwy 2
  • Maintain and expand the natural character of the park
  • Improve and expand beach amenities and area
  • Improve the safety and capacity of the existing washrooms
  • Convert the existing pilot off leash area to a permanent and accessible off leash area (8 acres)
